Bee Tour

Come and see the inner workings of a hive, the process of honey-making and sample our quality products. Learn about the importance of bees in the ecosystem and food chain.

Times: 11:00, 14:00, 16:00
Duration: 1.5 hours

In the Sliabh Aughty mountains within an unspoiled landscape of green meadows, wildflowers and boglands, join the Leahy family who are fourth generation beekeepers. Hear about the integral role of bees in ancient Ireland and their continued importance within the modern world’s ecosystem. Put on a bee-suit to watch a beekeeper at work while gaining insights into a bee’s life. Open a hive marvelling at how the process works. See pollen, larvae and maybe even the Queen! End with a tasting of this precious, 100% raw mountain honey, flavoured only by nature and paired with local artisan foods.
